In Memory This issue of the Monday Creek News is dedicated to the memory of Leroy Danison who provided countless hours of service over the years. He was instrumental in forming the Monday Creek Fire Department in May of 1981, coordinated the fire department dinners and much more. Leroy will be sadly missed by all. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Monday Creek Fire Department News The fire department has nearly finished the National Incident Management Training and is close to being 100 percent compliant. All township trustees and the clerk have also completed the training as required. Fire department members were recently fitted for there own personal air mask. The fitting required each firefighter to wear an air mask and do various tasks while connected to a computer that checked the air mask for the proper size and fit. The official presentation of a Polaris Ranger ATV was made by The U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Company September 12, at the fire department. U.S. Smokeless donates approximately 70 of these vehicles each year to Fire, E.M.S. and Law Enforcement. The fire department was selected for the award out of over 1,300 applications received by U.S. Smokeless from Fire, E.M.S. and Law Enforcement nationwide. The annual “All you can eat Fish Fry” has been rescheduled for November 12 from 4 - 7 p.m. Please come and support the department and visit with friends.
